General information
- Credits
- 3 ECTS
Objective
On completion of the course the student will have learnt the basic concepts of probability and be able to apply the rules. The student will understand the basic concepts of random variables and will have learnt to model some random events. The student will be familiar with the most common discrete and continuous distributions. The student will understand the concept of confidence interval and the basics of statistical reasoning. The student will have learnt the basic principles of estimation, statistical tests and statistical process control. The student will be able to interpret measurements statistically, determine regression lines and draw correct conclusions of the relationships between the variables. The student will be able to summarize and interpret data with appropriate plots and measures of central location and dispersion.
