Course unit code: TY00AA60

General information

Credits
3 ECTS

Objective

On completion of the course the student will be able to create pointer arithmetic components and linked entities of the resistances, inductances and capacitances of the transformers, cables and everyday devices needed in 400V/230V systems, for practical measurement calculations, and to use them to conduct pointer arithmetic calculations. The student will be familiar with the selection criteria of the most important safety devices. The student will be familiar with the pointer arithmetic principles of the economical dimensioning and error situation dimensioning of 400V/230V electrical equipment. In addition, the student will be familiar with the principles of selecting resistance and safety devices on the basis of calculation results.

Content

Describing the 400/230V network and the electrical circuit components that contain resistance, inductance and capacitance. Using pointer arithmetic to calculate alternating currents. Calculation principles of voltage reduction, power loss, 3- and 1-phased short circuit currents in the 400V/230V systems of buildings for planning the protective and electrical economical dimensioning. Principles of selecting safety devices. Principles of examining periodic phenomena and interference on different frequencies.
