Objective

On completion of the course the student will have an overall understanding of the water and sewage systems in buildings and their connections with other building services engineering related systems in a building. The student will understand the structure of municipal water system and sewerage, and how the water systems of a building are connected to that. The student will be familiar with the public regulations and instructions related to the water and sewage system of a building.
On completion of the course the student will be able to apply public regulations and instructions to water supply and sewage systems. The student will be able to select and position functional water and sewage fittings, equipment and pipes to a building. The student will be able to select an energy-economical and functional hot water supply system. The student will be familiar with sand, oil, gasoline and grease separators. The student will be able to select a suitable sewage treatment system for a property in a sparsely populated area. The student will be familiar with the drainage systems of property foundations and plots.

Community water system and sewerage. Public regulations and instructions as a basis for the planning, implementation and usage of water and sewage systems. The water systems of a property, the energy economy of water supply system and water consumption. The water and sewage fittings of a property. The rain water system of a property. Protecting the water supply and sewage network. Sound engineering in water and sewage systems. Waste water pumping stations. Producing hot water. Systems used to alter the water pipe pressure of a property. Fire water systems.
