Introduction to HVAC EngineeringLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

On completion of the course the student will have an overall insight into the HVAC systems in buildings, especially in one-family houses. The student will know the public rules and regulations concerning the HVAC systems in buildings on a general level. The student will also be familiar with HVAC drawings and know the devices in them. Furthermore, the student will recognize various demands that have an effect on the selection and operation of an HVAC system and will be able to compare various systems with other similar ones.

Content

Public rules and regulation as the basis of planning, implementation and operation of HVAC systems in one-family houses.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to describe the operations of HVAC systems and is able to apply them according to instructions. He or she recognizes the most common HVAC drawing symbols and equipment.

The student is able to describe the operations of HVAC systems and is able to apply them independently. He or she recognizes the most common HVAC drawing symbols and equipment.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to describe and give reasons for the operation of HVAC systems using the official professional terminology and drawing symbols.
