Objective

On completion of this course the student will know the basic concepts of quality management and methods in general outline. He/she has the basic knowledge on the most common quality tools and quality costs and the factors affecting them, too. The student will know the principles of quality and environment systems and their application to the graphic industry. The student will also know the quality formation and the factors affecting it.

On completion of this course the student will be able to design quality development activities for a printing environment and suitable quality control methods for the graphic production process.

- evaluate the quality of printed products
- assess the level of quality management in a printing company

The student knows
- several definitions of quality
- several quality tools and their use
- the conceptual difference between the quality of products/services and quality of operations/activities, and to evaluate them
- the most important quality components of printed products
The student is able to
- evaluate the quality of printed products from many viewpoints
- assess the level of quality management in a printing company
- select suitable tools and methods for evaluating or developing the quality in a company
