Objective

After completion of the course the student has sufficient understanding of the most important principles and calculation techniques in chemistry, so that he or she is able to successfully participate in the other chemistry course.

Content

Basic principles of chemistry, structure of matter, chemical bonding, atomic and molecular masses, the mole concept and Avogadro´s constant, phases, solutions and specifying solution concentration, chemical stoichiometry, acids and bases, oxidation and reduction, reaction equations, an introduction to chemical reaction equilibrium.
