Introduction to Data ScienceLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

On completion of the course the student can extract information from data, create predictions and understand how the methods can be used to big data problems.

Content

Several current trends in the business world are based on utilizing knowledge extracted from the data. The course introduces the key methods for scalable data processing, data visualization and machine learning models using open source software. During the course, the student will configure environment for scalable data analytics platform, and perform several data analytics exercises.

Qualifications

Good to understand basics from math, statistics and software engineering.
