Objective

This course is focused on practical aspects of network security.
Course includes Detailed analysis of network protocols and their vulnerabilities. Students will practice attacking and protecting essential parts of network infrastructure.

Content

During this course students will get familiar with various network protocols vulnerabilities and attacks exploiting them.
Attacks would be performed on:
- OSI Layer 1 (Physical layer)
- OSI Layer 2 - 4 protocols:
* ARP, STP, DHCP, IP, UDP, TCP, HSRP
- Some higher-level protocols (http, ssl)
Students will practice writing attack tools themselves (With help of Scapy packet manipulation program)
Existing tools would be used for performing network attacks as well.
Most of the exercises would be done with help of penetration testing distribution Kali linux.

Qualifications

CCNA (1-4) or similar
UNIX Operating System or any Linux course is a plus
