Objective
The student learns to model and solve application problems with derivatives and integrals.
Content
Differential calculus: Approximation of error and other applications.
Integral calculus: Change of variable in the integral. Applications of integrals. Simple differential equations.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student can recognize a composite function and differentiate it using the chain rule. She/he can model and solve a simple application problem as an extreme value problem.
The student masters the change of variable in an integral. He can form an integral in a simple application problem.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
In addition to the above: The student can use the differential formula in error approximation and other applications.
The student understands the idea of a first order linear ordinary differential equation with constant coefficients and knows its solution. He knows how to form a differential equation in a simple application problem.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
In addition to the above: The student is able to model and solve application problems using derivatives, integrals and first order differential equations.
