Objective

After the course, the student has a basic understanding of the Junos Operating System and she/he can configure and maintain Junos Operating System based Router and Switching Networks.

Content

- IOS vs. Junos
- Junos command structure
- Routing and switching in a Junos operating system

Qualifications

CCNA1-4 or equivalent knowledge

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Paradigm:
- the student understands how the routing and switching paradigms are implemented in a Juniper Operator System (Junos)

Routing:
- the student is able to configurate relatively complex routing networks in Junos, and is able to connect two different technologies (i.e. Cisco, Juniper) as a part of this network with the instructor's help;

Switching:
- the student is able to configure a relatively complex combined Junos and IOS switching network;

Troubleshoot:
- the student is able to troubleshoot and optimize Junos and IOS networks with the instructor's help;

Assessment criteria, good (3)

- the student shows independent solutions.

- the student is able to configurate relatively complex routing networks in Junos, and is able to connect two different technologies (i.e. Cisco, Juniper) as a part of this network;
- the student shows independent solutions.

- the student is able to configure a relatively complex combined Junos and IOS switching network;
- the student shows independent solutions.
