Objective

On completion of the course the student will
- understand the hierarchy of geodetic ground control networks
- be able to do basic geodetic measurements and understand the quality control of geodetic measurements
- be able to plan and measure geodetic ground control points with the methods of free station and traverse

Content

Ground control networks and their hierarchy. Satellite and traverse measurements. The calculations and adjustments of ground control networks. Calibration activities and needs for calibrations. The processes in and quality of ground control networks.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to do basic measurements such as data collecting and setting out, as well as control point measurements. The student is able to do the calculations in these measurements.
