Objective

The student can use several equipment of modern biotechnology according to manuals and s/he can evaluate the correctness of results. The student could compare different methods in the market and understands how competitive advantage is formed.

Content

1. The use of modern biotechnology methods and equipment, evaluation of the functionality of used methods, comparison with alternative methods and equipment in the market
2. Clarification of potential failures and error calculations, suggestion of new solutions for problem solving

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1. The student understands the operation principles of used equipment. S/he needs guidance in using the apparatus.
2. The student can evaluate the reliability of results naming the most important source of errors.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

1. The student can use the apparatus spontaneously. S/he can name some competitors in the biotechnology market and their operating principles.
2. The student is able to suggest alternative methods to analyze the sample.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

1. The student can use the equipment independently with high quality and can explain the most critical steps of using it. S/he does the market research of competitors and recognizes the most significant competitors thinking how competitive advantage is formed.
