Objective

The student understands the concepts of heat transfer and fluid mechanics of this course, so that s/he can solve key problems of the area, use her/his knowledge in later studies and future occupations.

The student is able to qualitatively define or describe the concepts and phenomena related to the topic and can make simple, straightforward calculations.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

1. The student can explain the existence and basic properties of different fluids.
2. Student recognizes the most common components and their effect on fluid systems.
3. The student can dimension different types of fluid and heat transfer systems.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

1. The student knows different types of fluids and their flow properties in bio- and food technology and can estimate their effect on processes.
2. Student recognizes the components of fluid systems and understands the content of such equipment brochures.
3. the student can solve typical multistage problems in flow and heat transfer systems and can dimension pieces of equipment.
