Objective

After this course the student
knows manufacturing methods of metal industry
knows machine tools, tooling and fixturing systems
knows the theory of most important manufacturing technologies and can choose convenient cutting conditions for effective manufacturing
can design products cost-consciously when taking account of manufacturing viewpoints
can choose suitable manufacturing methods for every purpose
knows the dimensional and geometrical accuracy, tolerances and surface roughness you can achieve with every manufacturing method

Content

The theory of metal cutting, cutting methods, machine tools, tooling and fixturing systems, grounds of production automation, advanced processes, the grouds of sheet metal forming, welding, forging and polymer technology. In the laboratory practice the student learn to use machine tools, to choise cutting parameters, to measure cutting forces and power, to make a product with certain tolerance, fit and surface roughness, to control tool wear and ship formation.
