German 4Laajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

The students are familiar with study and work related customs in the German-speaking world. On completion of the course, they will have expanded their vocabulary and learned to communicate more efficiently in working life situations. They are able to follow conversations on different topics, if the participants use fairly clear language. They are also able to talk about various topics related to working life and society. Students can interpret and comment on authentic texts.

Content

Students review and strengthen their command of grammatical structures. They practise oral skills such as expressing opinions. Students report on various topics both orally and in writing.

Qualifications

German 3 or equivalent knowledge.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student has achieved the course objectives on a satisfactory level. The student’s target language communication skills and cultural knowledge are limited compared to the content of the course.

The student has achieved the course objectives on a good level, but some aspects of the student’s skills and knowledge still require further attention. The student’s target language communication skills and cultural knowledge are good with regard to the content of the course. The student is able to apply the acquired skills in communication situations encountered in studies, work, or free time.
