Russian 1Laajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

Students can read and write in the Cyrillic alphabet. They manage in basic communication situations, are able to ask and answer in Russian in various service situations and tell others about themselves. They are familiar with Russian culture and with a typical way of communicating and reacting in Russian, and use key vocabulary related to these situations.

Students apply basic grammatical structures.

Content

Students practice the Cyrillic alphabet and grammatical structures in Russian, pronunciation and listening comprehension. They participate in communicative exercises as well as in pair and group work.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student has achieved the course objectives on a satisfactory level. The student’s target language communication skills and cultural knowledge are limited compared to the content of the course.

The student has achieved the course objectives on a good level, but some aspects of the student’s skills and knowledge still require further attention. The student’s target language communication skills and cultural knowledge are good with regard to the content of the course. The student is able to apply the acquired skills in communication situations encountered in studies, work, or free time.

The student has achieved the course objectives excellently. The student’s target language communication skills and cultural knowledge are strong with regard to the content of the course.
