Objective
The student shows a command of melodies and harmonies based on major, minor and blues tonalities through singing and writing.

- Intervals
- Most common jazz scales
- More demanding major, minor and blues melodies
- Leading note chromaticism in tonal melody
- Bass lines
- Introduction to modulations also with symmetrical relations
- 2-voice melodic dictations
- Four- and five-note chord voicings, inversions, positions and open voicings
- Tonal chord progressions including also altered tones
- Harmony, melody and improvisition exercises over "music minus one" recordings

• can sing and write demanding major, minor and blues melodies with non-chordal and leading note chromaticism
• can write two part melody dictations
• has completed the oral and written exam satisfactorily
