Basics of Music TechnologyLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

The student becomes familiar with common music technology applications, such as MIDI, music notation programs, sequencers and other computer programs frequently used in music studies and music education. In addition, the student becomes familiar with audio in live performances from a musician's perspective and learns to prepare for performances as a professional. Students who have completed the course are able to use computers and common music applications both in their studies and in their profession.

- Programming and using virtual instruments
- Basics of digital image and video processing

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The assessment is based on the student’s work during the course, his/her skills and knowledge at the completion of the course, and his/her ability to reach the set objectives.
