Electric Guitar, Course C, (Period C1)Laajuus (6 ECTS)

Objective

Students have a command of the technique, rhythm handling and phrasing required by the repertoire and are capable of playing in an ensemble. Students become practiced in the interpretation and improvisation required by different musical styles, in the application of theory in practice, have a command of varying repertoire, attain sufficient music reading skills and become qualified for major instrument B-level studies.

Content

- Examination of the technical and interpretative issues of guitar playing
- Phrasing in different styles of music
- Exercises in music reading and transposition, as well as sight-reading and improvisation
- A stylistically varying repertoire of at least 60 pieces
- Exercises in learning and interpretation skills, as well as accompanying by ear
