Main Instrument 5Laajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

After completing the course, students will be able to work in a target-oriented and independent manner with the basics of playing the instrument and they will know how to apply those skills in their playing/singing. Students will be familiar with playing in band and developing musical creativity and musical thinking.

Content

Students examine technical and interpretative aspects of singing/playing the instrument: basic skills, accompaniment (band instruments), improvisation, phrasing and coordination. From simple examples to larger and more advanced repertoire by listening, analyzing and performing.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The assessment is based on the student’s work during the course, his/her skills and knowledge at the completion of the course, and his/her ability to reach the set objectives.
