Sound Reinforcement 2Laajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

The student deepens his/hers know how in PA systems and sound reinforcement techniques. The student can tune up the PA and monitor systems and can operate the wireless in-ear monitor system. The student masters the multitrack recording of a concert and studies the use of audiovisual (image processing) tools as a part of live concert.

Content

Tuning up of the PA systems and acoustic matching. Recording prospects of live concerts. Visual representations as a part of live concert. Advanced microphone techniques in sound reinforcement situations. Special features of the in-ear monitor systems.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student:
• has participated in class
• has in-depth knowledge of sound systems and sound reproduction technologies
• has completed the agreed exercises

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition, the student:
• is able to tune audio and monitoring systems and operate wireless in-ear monitoring systems
• understands the operating principles of lighting equipment
• is able to utilize advanced microphone techniques in various sound reinforcement situations

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition, the student:
• is able to complete the multi-track recording of a concert
• is familiar with audio-visual (image handling) tools as part of concert production

• has completed the agreed exercises
