Objective

The student has an extensively knowledge of digital signal processing and the use of digital devices in a music production environment.

- Basics of digitizing and processing audio signals
- The components of the computer and their intercommunication
- Recording systems and formats
- Orientation in audio editing software
- Digital multitrack recording and summing
- Audio editing
- Synchronizing a project studio

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student:
• has participated in class
• has studied digital signal processing and the utilization of digital equipment in music production extensively
• has completed the agreed exercises
• has completed the final test

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition, the student:
• understands the basics of digitization of audio signals
• understands the management of storage systems and various formats
• is familiar with the computer programs used for audio processing, digital multi-track recording, summing, and editing
• is familiar with synchronization in project studios

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition, the student:
• understands computer components and their inter-communication
• knows how to use digital audio editing equipment appropriately
