Printed textile design ILaajuus (6 ECTS)

Objective

The student will be able to design and produce visually interesting printed surfaces. The student masters the basics of print textile design and is able to put ideas into practice (to a hand-printed cloth). The student is familiar with the principles of industrial design methods and printing methods. The student will understand the effects of both artisanal and industrial printing methods on the environment.

-basics of print design: surface composition, reports, colour series, creating a collection
-basics of textile printing: pigment printing, reactive dye printing, exposed chart and printing lengths of textile material
