Objective

The student will know the essential characteristics of Western art and culture. The student will be familiar with the major movements and works of art in the Western art history. The student will be able to analyze and study works and phenomena of art and culture. The student will understand the connection between modern art and culture and the history of art and culture. The student will be able to understand and evaluate her/his own professional activities in the context of the history of art and culture.

Content

-The essential history of Western art, architecture and design.
-The major art movements and leading persons of art, architecture and design.
-Art and the economical and social development and history of ideas and culture of the Western world.
-The context of art and cultural phenomena.
