Chemical DyeingLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

The student will master the dyeing of natural fibres by using chemical dyes and is able to choose appropriate dyes and dyeing methods for textile and thread materials. He/she will be familiar with the dyeing tools and methods and is able to work unsupervised and in a safe manner. The student will be able to apply his knowledge of colour theory when creating colour charts and colour formulas. The student knows the chemical dyeing methods and understands the effects that both industrial and artisanal methods have on the environment.
