Objective
By the end of this course students will understand the general meaning of restorative occupation. During the course the students will explore different ways of being in the nature and doing activities in the nature from what is aimed to be a restorative perspective. The students will also try out some nature-activities in his/her own daily life and share experiences with the other students.
Content
From an occupational therapy perspective there is a need for restorative occupation in order for us to recover from stress and productive occupation.
- during this course we will get familiar with the concept restorative occupation (D Pierce, 2004)
The nature has a great potential when it comes to experiencing restoration. In Finland it is easy to access the nature and we have good opportunity to use the nature as a restorative resource.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed
Students use the appropriate core concepts as well as make choices using the knowledge base of their own professional field. They recognise the prerequisites and consequences of their own actions.
Students’ actions follow the rules and instructions given, and they use working methods appropriately and safely.
Students work according to the professional ethics of their own field, and they act responsibly as group members.
