Objective

After completing the study unit, students
• can make an initial assessment of the patient as well as identify the need for additional assistance.
• can consult about the treatment and know the principles of initial diagnostic information.
• are familiar with the treatment of the most common patient groups and master the principles of their basic level pre-hospital emergency care.
• are capable of interpreting the principles of ECG and use treatment and support equipment of basic level pre-hospital emergency care.
• understand the principles of patient education.
• master communication between authorities as well as the principles of the most common data terminal equipment.
• understand the principles of non-transport of patients.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Students are familiar with the principles of initial assessment of the patient, basic pre-hospital emergency care of risk patients as well as can describe the ECG verbally. Students know how to use the treatment and support equipment of basic level pre-hospital emergency care as well as the principles of communication between authorities. Students are familiar with the principles of reporting and requesting for instructions for treatment as well as the principles of documenting emergency care.
