Work Placement and Training in the Teaching Optical ShopLaajuus (6 ECTS)

Objective

Consolidation of skills achieved during previous work placement periods.
Students know how to assess binocular vision and are capable of providing instructions for orthoptic treatments. They have consolidated their competence in determining refractive errors, prescribing spectacles and assessing visual acuity so as to be capable of working independently and giving statements relating to visual acuity.

Content

Binocular vision disorders, peer tutoring, working in the teaching shop, guidance in the use of visual aids, assistance in fitting contact lenses.
