Objective

Students familiarise themselves with anatomical terminology, understand the basics of human anatomy and functions and are able to outline in general terms how different organ systems interact with each other. They are aware of the anatomy of bones and joints.

Content

Key anatomical terminology. Cells, tissues, skin, blood. Basics of the structures and functions of the circulatory, respiratory, lymphatic, digestive and urinary systems. Basic principles of hormonal and neural regulation. Bone development, structures of mature bones and different types of joints. Bones and joints of the head, the trunk and extremities.
