Objective

Students understand the structures and functions of the human immune system and the theoretical foundations of immunoassay methods and possess basic capabilities for practical analysis. Students familiarise themselves with clinical immunology and analyses relating to clinical immunology.

Content

Human immune system, acquired and cell-mediated immunity and disease diagnostics
Pre-analytical techniques of the most common immunoassays, principles and use of methods in specialist tests
Immunoassay methods, in particular agglutination, precipitation and haemagglutination and the use of antibodies and various tracers as part of immunoassay methods
Pathological immune mechanisms.
