Anatomy and Physiology 1Laajuus (3 ECTS)

Course unit code: SFXXA02

General information

Credits
3 ECTS

Objective

Students understand that organs are made of tissues and command the tissue properties of the musculoskeletal system in particular. They understand the generation and propagation of nerve impulses and the functions of synapses in neuromuscular junctions. Students understand the muscle contraction mechanism. They learn to use terminology of foreign origin relating to the musculoskeletal system. Students command skeletal anatomy and are aware of the different types of joints and factors influencing joint mobility. Students command the anatomy of the shoulder and the upper extremity in terms of the musculoskeletal system and understand the significance of muscles to joint movements. Students command the skeletal structure of the lower extremity.
