Neurological Physiotherapy 2Laajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

Students develop their capabilities to create a therapeutic relationship with individuals in rehabilitation, taking any possible neuropsychological disorders into account.
Students consolidate their skills in analysing motor control and equilibrium and understand the link between various functional neurological disorders and people?s functioning.
Students use appropriate assessment methods of functioning as the basis for implementing physiotherapy, considering the individual circumstances of each person in rehabilitation and their family and friends, their stage of rehabilitation and the operating environment. A key aspect in planning and implementing physiotherapy is to support the strengths of the person in rehabilitation, in particular in situations where their functional capacity is diminished.
Students develop in instructing those in rehabilitation and their family and friends, taking their resources and individual needs into account.
Students consolidate their skills in multidisciplinary work and make use of research information in analysing their own competence and developing neurological physiotherapy.

A person in rehabilitation as an active learner and exercise suitable for different stages of rehabilitation (physiotherapy at acute and rehabilitation stages, self-motivated exercise, instruction of family and friends)
Systematic use of different instruction methods
Assistive devices and exercise environments promoting the functioning of a person in rehabilitation.
