Surgical and Gynaecological Nursing- Clinical PracticeLaajuus (13 ECTS)

Objective

Students gain competence in implementing surgical and gynaecological nursing. They are proficient in surgical and gynaecological patients´ safe basic care, drug treatment and pain management and are able to apply the principles of asepsis to practice in surgical and gynaecological environment. Moreover, students demonstrate competence in principal nursing methods of surgical and gynaecological nursing and deepen their competence in recognising and observing malfunctions related to vital signs. Their ability to support and help surgical patients develops. Students are able to recognise issues related to women´s sexual health from the viewpoint of nursing.
