The studies prepare to nurse surgical patients during various phases of the care they receive. Emphasis is placed on supporting the coping of the patient and his or her next of kin.

Combatting nosocomial infections
Medications of the surgical patient
Receiving surgical patients and preparing them for procedures/surgery, observation and nursing after the procedure/operation
Patient teaching related to examinations and procedures/surgery
Supporting the coping of the patient and next of kin and the rehabilitation of the patient
