Objective

The student knows after the course the sturucture and operation of SS#7 protocol stack and structures of messaging signal units. He/she should also know the principles of SS#7 network dimensioning and signaling at packet switched networks.
The student can analyze signalling messages.

Content

Structure and function of Common Control Channel Signaling (SS#7) network and protocol stack, SS#7 messages, analysis of SS#7 signaling sequences, simple SS#7 network dimensioning exercises. Part of the course considers signaling at packet switched networks.
