Objective

The student’s mathematical skills will show in his/her ability to understand and use mathematics in the applications encountered in the laboratory field as well as in the clarity and precision of presentation. Practice will develop the skills needed to use callation and deduction skills as well as instruments and different sources of information. Confidence in his/her mathematical skills and the ability to work on a long-term basis will enable the student to work independently and to develop his/her own work.

Content

Basics of algebra, unit conversions, percentage callation, quantity equations and stating results with the highest possible precision. Exponential and logarithmic functions. Graphic presentation. Linear regression. Basics of differential callus. Determinants and basics of matrix callus. Using statistics (basic concepts, measurement, sampling methods), presentation of experimental data, parameters, statistical dependence (correlation), probability distributions, basics of statistical estimation (confidence range).
