Practical Training 2Laajuus (15 ECTS)

Objective

On completion of the practical training the student will be familiar with the tasks of an HVAC fitter, a water and sewage system supervisor, and a ventilation system supervisor, as well as other tasks of an HVAC contractor and their content. After the practical training the student will be able to work as an assistant to a senior HVAC supervisor on site.

Content

The student will become familiar with the building services industry and tasks within the field by working for a contractor. If the student does not have previous experience in the field, the tasks may start from those of an employee, e.g. fitting tasks. A student who has worked as a fitter for several years should search for tasks closer to the degree, such as working as a project manager (e.g. supervision, offer calculation, contract methods). During the practical training the student will become familiar with the various tasks in HVAC contracting and their content, as well as the operation of a construction site.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Completing the course with a pass grade requires that the student hands in a practical training report and a testimonial of 400 hours of work.
