Objective
After completion of this course the student will have an understanding of physical principles, signal processing, quality requirements, image display methods and data entry of medical imaging. The student will comprehend the techniques and devices used in medical imaging. The student will understand safety regulations, radiation protection, quality control, standards and law of medical imaging. The student will have a deeper understanding of film based and digital x-ray imaging, computerized tomography, magnetic imaging, medical ultrasonography and radiological systems and networks. The student will understand how to cooperate with medical imaging professionals.

1. The student is able to understand the basic principles, methods and techniques of medical imaging.
2. The student is able to understand the structure, configuration and function of the most common imaging devices.
3. The student is able to understand the most common breakdowns and failures of medical imaging devices.
4. The student is able to carry out the basic maintenance and repair procedures of imaging devices.
5. The student is able to cooperate with healthcare and medical imaging professionals on a basic level.
