Objective
The student will be familiar with the ethical and legal conditions of discussions, meetings and negotiations. The student will also be familiar with the principles of information and PR matters. The student will know how to use customer-oriented communication strategies in various working life situations and will be able to assess and develop his or her communication skills. On completion of the course the student will have an understanding of the major management theories, management systems and motivational factors. The student will also be familiar with the basics of labour laws as well as with the role of the employment contract.
Content
Conversation and negotiation skills in a well-functioning work place. PR and information work and customer service in project management. Theories of management and motivation, such as team management, management by situations and deep leadership.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student is able to apply the learned knowledge and skills according to instructions. The student recognizes his or her own know-how and understands the importance of communication skills in leadership.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student is able to apply the learned knowledge and skills independently. The student is able to work in a group as an expert and to participate in negotiation situations.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student is able to give reasons for his or her choices related to the course content. The student is able to make use of communication skills and methods of internal communication in management tasks in practice. The student knows how to use customer-oriented communication strategies in various working life situations and is able to assess and develop his or her communication skills. The student is able to draw up announcements in writing and is familiar with the principles of PR matters. The student is familiar with negotiation situations.
