Objective

On completion of the course the student will be familiar with the most common DC and AC connections of power electronic devices. The student will understand the basics of the structure and operation of semiconductor components as well as their protective and cooling structures.
On completion of the course the student will have the theoretical knowledge to realize the basic power electronic connections, and thus change the type of electricity.

Content

The use of semiconductor components in power electronic connections. Basic AC and DC connections. Operational and structural principles of components and their heat-up, protection and cooling.
Control circuits for power electronic components.

When instructed, the student is able to realize the basic connections of power electronics in theory, and thus change the type of electricity along with interference effects.

The student is able to determine and realize the basic connections of power electronics in theory, and thus change the type of electricity along with interference effects.
