Objective

The student will have an overall picture of energy production and be familiar with the basics of combustion engineering and the cycle process of a steam power plant. The student will be familiar with the operations, components, design and control strategies of small district heating plants and boiler plants for single buildings.

The student will be able to dimension the main components and design the control strategy for a small power plant.

Content

An overall picture of energy resources, production and distribution of energy. Renewable energy sources, properties of fuels, cycle process of a steam power plant, production of district heat, oil heating. Energy from wood-based biofuels.
