Electricity Distribution NetworksLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

On completion of the course the student will be familiar with the electricity distribution system and the structure and essential components of the common electricity distribution network. The student will be familiar with controlling reactive and active power, along with various compensations. The student will be familiar with the selection criteria of service cables, transformers and high voltage systems of a building. The student will also be familiar with different circuit breakers and selectivity.

Content

Power plants, transmission and distribution network, the power control of an electrical network, reactive power compensation, the distribution substation of a building, the electrical network grounding of a building, leakage and short circuit protection, secured networks, fuses and switches, selectivity.
