Printing Papers and InksLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Course unit code: TV00AA32

General information

Credits
3 ECTS

Objective

On completion of this course the student will have basic knowledge of the paper manufacturing process. He/she understands the meaning of raw materials in the printability and runability of paper, and knows the essential testing methods of these properties. He/she knows the raw materials of printing inks and their roles in the inks, too. Moreover the student knows the differencies in composition, reological properties and drying mechanisms of the printing inks in different printing methods.
-----
On completion of this course the student will be able to make the testings needed to define printability and runability properties of papers. He/she is able to assess the reasons for the possible differences. The student is also able to choose materials according to the requirements of the processes.
