Objective

After this course the student
- knows how to measure lenghts
- is able to measure geometrical tolerances
- can use measuring devices in quality control
- understands the reasons for measurement errors and the concept of uncertainty of the measurement
- understands the meaning of calibration
- can use the coordinate measuring device
- understands the importance of machine tool measurements and the follow-up of machine condition for the quality level of the company

The concepts of measurements, measuring errors and measurement uncertainty, measuring lenghts, checking geometric tolerances, calibration, SPC, coordinate measurements, reverse engineering, machine tool measurements and condition follow-up.
