Objective

The student knows the steps of product development and is able to apply product development methodology in product design and development.

Content

Product development methodology: identifying customer needs, product specifications, concept generation, problem-solving methods, concept selection, development. Special topics: modularity, industrial design, design for manufacturing, and prototyping. Real product development project.
