Objective
The course will introduce students to the power plant technology, its design and process values. After completing the course, they possess the necessary information for preliminary design of power plants. In addition, they understand the most common power plants. Also new types of power production methods will be familiar to students.
Content
1. Steam Power Plant, the values of the selection process, accounting and control issues.
2. Gas turbine power plant and its operating values.
3. Combined cycle, steam process imposed on the possibilities and limitations of use situations, and topping turbine use.
4. Pressurized combustion and gasification, and its importance in power production, the technical level of development and opportunities.
5. Preliminary design of a steam power plant.

2. The student understands the principles of the Combined Heat and Power plant cycle.

1. The student understands the main process values of a Steam Power Plant and a Gas turbine power plant. The student is able to assess the effect of parameters.
2. The student understands the principles of the Combined Heat and Power plant cycle.
3. The student understands the principles of Pressurized combustion and gasification.
4. The student is able to prepare a preliminary design of a power plant
