Objective

The course develops the student’s thermodynamic thinking. The student thereby manages common automotive and mechanical engineering applications, such as internal combustionengines, fans, pumps, compressors, turbochargers, turbines and refrigeration machinery.

Content

Properties of pure substances, closed and open systems, first and second laws, enthalpy, entropy, internal energy, heat engines, refrigerators and heat pumps, pumps and blowers

Understanding the basic concepts, qualitative understanding of the processes involved
