Objective

The student learns to understand the possibilities of the machine vision. She or he can use for example Matlab to calculate and recognize from a picture. Also she/he learns to filter a picture for machine vision operations.

1. Basics of machine vision.
2. The components of the machine vision system.
3. Filtering of picture.
4. Morphological operations.
5. Picture formats.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1. Tehty 50 % annetuista tehtävistä sekä periaatteiden ymmärrys.
2. Kyky luetella konenäköjärjestelmän komponentit.
3. suodatuksen periaatteet.
4. Morphologia käsitteenä.
5. Kyky luetella olennaiset kuvaformaatit.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

1. The student has done 70 % of exercises and she/he understands the principles of machine vision.
2. The student can select the components of the machine vision system.
3. The student can use filtering of the picture.
4. The student can change picture formats.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

1. The student has done 90 % of exercises and she/he can use the principles of machine vision.
2. The student can compare different machine vision systems and select the correct system principle.
3. The student knows the principles of the picture filtering.
4. The student can select the correct morphology operation.
5. The student can select the correct picture format for each application.
