Objective
The student can compute the stresses in the beam structure and assess its serviceability; can calculate the deflection of a beam structure with energy method; can design structures against impact loads.

1. General loading in beam structures: tension, bending, shear, and torsion
2. Stresses and deformations in frame structures
3. Energy method, impact loading
