Objective

Upon completion of this course the student can make NC cutter paths with 3D model for a machining centre and post-process them into machine language

Content

1. Creation of cutter paths and simulations
2. Tool management and tool libraries
3. Modification of cutter tracks
4. Creating an NC program by using postprocessor

Qualifications

Manufacturing Engineering 1,2

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1. The student can make machining tracks for objects that contain pockets, profiles, surfaces and various perforations
2. The student can simulate and postprocess cutter paths into NC machine language and process them in a machining centre.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

1. The student is able to make 3-axis cutter paths for surface shapes of an object
2. The student can simulate and postprocess cutter paths into NC machine language and process them with a machining centre.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

1. The student can make 4 axis cutter paths
2. The student can simulate and postprocess cutter paths into NC machine language and process them with a machining centre.
